This community went back to renting so if you want to buy a unit it will require cash. Lenders aren't lending here because there are too many rentals.
Landmark On Central
Landmark Towers on Central is a 17-story condominium tower that originally opened in 1964 as Uptown Phoenix's first high rise. Landmark on Central has floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto large balconies with great views of Phoenix and the surrounding metropolitan Phoenix areas. I'm concerned about the sound that travels into the hall from the condos. I'm not sure how quite it is between units. I have heard they have been fixing the AC/Heating plants and are working on other things. The prices are rock bottom, but the HOA fee is high.

1961 meets the 21st Century in Pierre on 5th Ave. This is an incredible conversion and the prices will be hard to beat. The units are selling fast so you don't want to wait. As of July 2010, they are half sold. They all have granite counter tops in the kitchen and the baths, most have glass tile back splashes in hte kitchen and upgraded tile and carpet.
