First built in 1929, several East Alvarado homes exhibit the Early Ranch or Minimal Traditional style. Although the neighborhood showcases architectural styles ranging from French Provincial to Monterey influences, East Alvarado serves as a witness in the architectural transition of Phoenix neighborhoods to “suburban ranch.”
